Release Notes

Second Release. This release uses the DirectShow.Net library which can be found at http://directshownet.sourceforge.net/index.html

New Features:
  • The alpha value of the video frames can be adjusted with VideoPlayer.AlphaTransparency
  • VideoPlayer.MillisecondsPerFrame and VideoPlayer.FramesPerSecond have been added
Release Changes:
  • Fixed no video bug
  • Altered Update() method to check if the OutputFrame texture is avaliable before updating it
  • Altered the Thread.Sleep() calls to reflect the frame rate of the video
Release Features:
  • Requires Microsoft XNA GS v2.0
  • Plays all video files which DirectShow can handle (wmv, avi, mpg etc)
  • Provides an output Texture2D to render the video in XNA
  • Supports Video Render to 3D objects (e.g. a TV or cinema screen), as the video frames are outputted in the Texture2D OutputFrame
  • Audio is handled by DirectShow and outputted through the system's default audio device

This release is not compatible with Xbox 360, as it requires DirectShow, only avaliable on the Windows Platform.
